ENG330: Their Eyes Were Watching God

2012 was the 75th anniversary of the publication of Zora Neale Hurston´s beautiful novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Here, Alice Walker reads from the book at an event from The Green Space, New York Public Radio´s open gathering place. The event took place on March 28, 2012.

he Greene Space presented the first American radio drama of this timeless and affecting tale on February 29th and March 1st 2012. Directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson amd adapted by award-winning writer Arthur Yorinks, The exceptional cast included Phylicia Rashad, as narrator, Roslyn Ruff as Janie, Brandon Dirden as Tea Cake and Leslie Uggams as the Grandmother.
