Boys and Girls Hockey Seasons in Play
January 8, 2010
Exeter's hockey program took to the ice for several games in December as both the boys and girls got off to an early start this year, despite the holiday break.
The boys varsity team finished 28-5-2 last year, while making it to the New England Prep School Championship, where they lost to Salisbury School. The team is off to a strong start and well on their way to meeting their goal to return to the playoffs this year. They closed out December with a 9-1 record, with their only loss coming against a strong Cushing squad.
Last year, the girls varsity team had one of their strongest seasons, finishing with a 19-6-1 record, while qualifying for the NEPSAC playoffs for the first time in 9 years. Through December of this season, they are off to a mixed start with a 4-4 record. During the New Year's Tournament, the girls finished with a 2-2 record, with wins against Gilmour and Winchendon.
