Academy Receives New England Museum Publication Award
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Exeter, NH (July 23, 2008)—Phillips Exeter Academy received an honorable mention earlier this summer from the New England Museum Association’s annual Publication Awards Competition, recognizing excellence in design, production and effective communication in museum publishing. The Academy’s entry, a Lamont Gallery page featuring RedHOUSE: Architecture for Art, received an official recognition of merit in the competition’s “Website budget under $750,000” category.
Entries were judged by a panel of graphic designers, museum marketing and communication staff, and a museum visitor from the public. The competition was open for both small and large institutions, and focused on the effective use of resources. Highlighting the new and growing form of electronic communication and marketing, this year’s contest judged websites on creativity and design, ease of use, effectiveness and programming compatibility. PEA’s RedHOUSE page was produced by Website Managing Editor Nicole Pellaton, IT Web Services Specialist Connie Nardi, and Lamont Gallery Director Karen Burgess Smith.
Summer gallery hours in July are Tuesday - Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; closed Saturday through Monday; closed June and August. For further information, contact the Lamont Gallery at (603) 777-3461.
